National comparisons
As a federation of states and territories that each has responsibility for their own health and welfare issues, Australia does not have one unified system, but rather eight different child protection systems. As a result, It can be a difficult task to describe the different approaches to child protection issues in Australia. To make this easier, the National Child Protection Clearinghouse collates and publishes "national comparisons" for a range of different child protection issues.
