AIFS EPUB publications
A selection of Institute publications are being made available in EPUB 2.0 format. EPUB is an open standard format managed by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF).
The Institute’s EPUBs are free of digital rights management (DRM) restrictions and therefore may be read using any software or hardware that is capable of opening EPUB 2.0 files.
Software
EPUBs can be read using a wide range of software, including:
- desktop computers:
- Adobe Digital Editions (Windows, Mac)
- Calibre (Windows, Mac)
- EPUBReader Firefox browser add-on (Windows, Mac)
- Nook (Windows, Mac)
- Readium Chrome browser add-on (Windows, Mac).
- mobile platforms:
E-Ink readers
Most dedicated E-Ink readers can also recognise the EPUB format, including:
- Barnes & Noble Nook
- Kobo eReader
- Sony Reader.
Note that the Amazon Kindle does not natively recognise the EPUB format, although recent devices can use other software to read EPUBs.
