National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children: Resources to support the Third Action Plan, 2015-2018

To mark the release of the Third Action Plan, 2015-2018, we have brought together a range of resources to support its key strategies.

The National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009-2020 is an ambitious, long-term approach to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Australia’s children. Every three years an action plan is developed under the Framework, which sets out important actions that the Commonwealth Government, State and Territory Governments and the community sector has agreed to take over the next three years.

Today marks the launch of the Third Action Plan, 2015-2018. The Third Action Plan comprises three overarching strategies that prioritise efforts on early intervention and prevention and highlight action on critical areas of children’s wellbeing. Below, we list a range of our resources that can be used to support the strategies of the Third Action Plan.

Strategy 1: Early intervention with a focus on the early years, particularly the first 1000 days for a child

This strategy aims to reduce the risk for children and young people from conception to adulthood.
