News - Strengthening child sexual abuse laws (NSW)

8 September 2017

The NSW government has released a discussion paper on strengthening child sexual abuse laws and seeks submissions in response.

In response to recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and the NSW Parliament's Joint Select Committee on Sentencing of Child Sexual Assault Offenders, the NSW government has released a discussion paper that identifies issues and proposes questions about possible options for child sexual abuse reform.

Input is sought from victims of child sexual abuse, organisations that provide services to victims, legal professionals and the general community.

Submissions are due by 6 October 2017.
