Report - Review of the foster care and blue card systems (Qld)

8 September 2017

The Queensland Family and Child Commission has published three reports which review the foster care and blue card system.

In September 2016, the Queensland Government requested the Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) undertake a whole of system review of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 and its operation. The review included a focus on the use and reliance of Working with Children Checks (blue cards) and other information in the assessment and approval process for foster carers.

Three reports have been published which cover:

  • a review of the blue card system
  • a review of the foster care system
  • strengthening capacity across Queensland's child protection system

Download the reports via the QFCC website.
