Report - Seeking help for domestic and family violence

Report - Seeking help for domestic and family violence

21 September 2017

This report from ANROWS examines the experiences of women seeking help for domestic and family violence who live in regional, rural, and remote areas.

This report has been published by ANROWS, based on a qualitative research study into women’s experiences. The study contributes to the limited evidence on how geographical and social isolation shapes women’s coping with, and decisions to seek assistance for, domestic and family violence, and their efforts to live safely.

Among its key findings, the report highlights that, among the women involved in the study, geographical isolation was only a factor for those who lived on isolated properties outside a regional centre.
