Report—Speaking out about school and learning: The views of WA children and young people on factors that support their engagement in school and learning

20 March 2018

This report explores the factors that influence a student's level of engagement in school.

This report has been published by the Commissioner for Children and Young People, Western Australia.

This report presents findings from consultations with more than 1,800 Western Australian school students that explored the factors for school engagement. It was found that while schools met the needs of most children and young people most of the time, areas for improvement were identified.

It highlighted specific issues relating to the learning and engagement with education of the following groups of students:

  • Aboriginal children and young people
  • children and young people with long term health issues or disability
  • male students in regional schools

Access the report via the Commissioner for Children and Young People website.
