Early childhood, family support and health care services: An evidence review

3 September 2019

This report looks at best practice in children's services and how local governments can help.

This report has been published by the Centre for Community Child Heath (CCCH) at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne.

This report summarises key evidence on the provision of early childhood services. It discusses different types of services, including play groups, home visiting, and parenting programs, and considers service issues such as targeted versus universal approaches, integrated service systems, and community engagement and co-production.

This report was commissioned to help develop children's services in one local government area in Victoria, and highlights how local governments are well-placed to be the lead player in local early childhood systems.
