Measuring Australia's digital divide: The Australian Digital Inclusion Index 2019

1 October 2019

This report charts progress in digital access, affordability and ability across Australia.

This report has been produced by RMIT University, Telstra, the Centre for Social Impact at Swinburne University, and Roy Morgan Research.

This annual report series aims to monitor digital inclusion in Australia over time and across socio-economic groups and geographic locations. It measures three key dimensions of digital inclusion: access, affordability, and digital ability.

This 2019 report highlights that, though digital ability and access is improving, affordability is still an issue and more attention needs to be given to improving the digital skills of the most excluded socio-demographic groups. There are also distinct regional variations, with regional and remote areas showing lower rates of digital inclusion than capital cities.

Access the report via the Australian Digital Inclusion Index website.
