'I just wanted to keep my boyfriend happy': Young country women's perceptions of intimate partner violence

8 October 2019

This report adds to what is known about intimate partner violence in rural communities and how local services can help.

This report has been published by Uniting Country SA.

The report explores how young women experience intimate partner violence in rural communities, drawing on interviews with ten women in South Australia.

The findings highlight the similarities in how both city and country women form relationships and experience intimate partner violence. It also highlights for service providers that many of the women interviewed did not recognise the start of intimate partner violence or where to seek support.
