This report presents key statistics on the number of children and young people involved with child protection services during 2018/19.

This report has been published by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW).

The report presents state and territory child protection notifications, investigations and substantiations, care and protection orders, out-of-home care, permanency and reunification and intensive family support services.

The report shows that though the number of children receiving child protection services rose by about 12% over the last four years, the rate has remained stable at around 30 per 1,000 children.
