Inquiry into the Education Department's Responses to Child Sexual Abuse (Tasmania)

Submissions are invited on the Department of Education's responses to child sexual abuse in Tasmanian government schools.

This Inquiry is being led by Professor Stephen Smallbone and Professor Tim McCormack, and supported by the Child Abuse Royal Commission Response Unit.

The inquiry will examine and report on the adequacy of existing legislation, policies, practices and procedures utilised by the Tasmanian Department of Education to minimise the risk of child sexual abuse within public schools. 

As part of this work, the Inquiry is asking for submissions from any interested parties, including survivors, and invites public submissions.

The submission deadline is 31 March 2021.
