This report provides recommendations to Government on improving the mental health of children, young people and adults in Australia.

This report has been published by the Productivity Commission.

It presents findings and recommendations from an inquiry into the influences on people's mental health, the effects of mental health on people's ability to participate and prosper in the community and workplace, and how mental health can be improved in workplaces, schools and universities, the justice system, community groups, healthcare services, and psychosocial support.

Fact sheets of key findings have also been produced, concerning:

  • Consumers and carers
  • Children and young people
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Health professionals
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse people.
