Key questions
The Growing Up in Australia study is guided by broad research questions that originally aimed to understand the development and wellbeing of children over time. These questions have evolved with the cohort and were revised in 2008 and 2015.
The key research questions now focus on “transitions to adulthood” and include high level adult outcomes domains including:
- economic participation
- social participation
- civic participation and citzenship
- educational attainment and skill development (cognitive and non cognitive skills)
- relationships within and outside the family
- family formation and parenting
- personal safety/security and housing
- adult health status
- adult social and emotional adjustment.
