The AIFS Conference is the Australian child and family sector's showcase event. Occurring every 2 years, it is a unique opportunity for policy makers, practitioners and researchers to gather to exchange ideas and network.

The 17th biennial AIFS Conference will again be held at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre. It will run from 11 to 14 June 2024.
The 2024 theme is: Families thriving? Asking big questions. Influencing change.

Past conferences
The theme of the 16th biennial AIFS Conference, held in June 2022, was 'Putting families at the centre'. The Conference attracted 752 attendees from around Australia and the region to the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre. Over a 3-day program, it featured:
- 201 oral presentations
- 50 poster presentations
- 9 sponsor-exhibitor stalls.
