Findings from the Growing Up in Australia longitudinal study show how friendships can help teenagers be better able to bounce back from stress.

Resilience is an important aspect of teen wellbeing. In 2016, with the older children in the Growing Up in Australia study aged 16–17, they were asked about their resilience and the ability to bounce back from stressful life events. This Conversation piece shares the findings.
