The findings of this research will help the Department of Defence (Joint Health Command) understand:

  • the changes (positive or negative) that families may experience when their loved ones are seriously wounded, injured or ill while serving in the Australian Defence Force
  • the positive contributions families can make to the rehabilitation
  • how Defence can maximise positive outcomes for families and Defence members.
