Dr Matthew Lamont is a Research Fellow in the Australian Gambling Research Centre at the Australian Institute of Family Studies. Matthew’s research applies a broad social sciences lens to leisure participation and extends into corporate social responsibility issues in sport. Matthew is predominately a qualitative researcher, though also has experience across a wide range of quantitative and mixed-methods approaches.

A former member of the Centre for Gambling Education and Research at Southern Cross University, Matthew has published widely in leading gambling, psychology, business, and sport management journals on issues surrounding the impacts of sports betting advertising, gambling industry sponsorship of sport, and sociological aspects of sports betting amongst young adult males.
