Nancy Greer joined AIFS in October 2020 as a Senior Research Officer within the Australian Gambling Research Centre. Nancy has a Bachelor of Psychological Science (honours) from the University of Queensland. Nancy is currently in the final stages of completing a PhD at CQUniversity Australia in the field of gambling and addictive behaviours.
Nancy has 14 years’ experience managing research projects, including topics on: gambling, homelessness, drug and alcohol use, health and well-being, and experiences of violence. Prior to joining AIFS, Nancy worked for 5 years at CQUniversity on over a dozen research projects surrounding the topics of gambling-related harm, the social cost of gambling, gambling and domestic violence against women, emerging gambling products (loot boxes, esports betting), mobile EGM play, gambling prevalence, interactive gambling, the effects of wagering marketing on vulnerable adults.
From 2008-2015 Nancy worked at a social research agency, focusing primarily in project design and management of qualitative and quantitative research, including a three year longitudinal project on homelessness.
