Dr Neha Swami is a Senior Research Officer in the Longitudinal and Life course Studies team.
Neha completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne in Economics. The thesis investigates non-standard work arrangements, housing situations and resource strategies among Australians. It demonstrates that casual employment increases financial hardship and that housing insecurity increases exits from employment and people’s reliance on non-standard survival strategies. These findings deepen our understanding of how people cope and survive through disadvantaged situations.
