Dr Trina Hinkley works with the Knowledge Translation and Impact team across the CFCA and Emerging Minds projects. Her research passions include developing and implementing programs to support young children to have the best start to life. She is passionate about ensuring robust evaluations of programs are undertaken to allow the greatest understanding of what works. Her research interests also include identifying the impact of health behaviours on developmental outcomes such as psychosocial wellbeing and cognitive functioning.
Trina has been a named author of multiple sets of Australian guidelines for physical activity and sedentary behaviours for children and young people. Her projects include collaborations in South Africa and the EU. Her program of research is situated within the Behavioural Epidemiology Framework including behavioural measurement, identifying correlates of behaviours, developing and delivering interventions and translation and implementation.
