Closing the Gap Clearinghouse

Past project

The clearinghouse was established to collect, analyse and synthesise evaluation evidence on ‘what works’ to close the gap in Indigenous disadvantage.

Closing the Gap Clearinghouse was jointly funded by all Australian governments for five years from 2009 to 2014. It was managed by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS).

The clearinghouse was established to collect, analyse and synthesise evaluation evidence on ‘what works’ to close the gap in Indigenous disadvantage.

Publications produced for the clearinghouse covered such topics as:

  • improving early childhood services
  • improving school completion for Indigenous students
  • access to health and preventative health programs.

Funding for the Closing the Gap Clearinghouse ceased in June 2014. Because they are no longer being updated, the publications produced for the project are stored in our Publications Archive.
