Families Then and Now
In recognition of AIFS’ 40th anniversary, Families Then and Now outlines some of the changes in Australian households and families from 1980 to today.
About the project
Since the establishment of the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) in 1980, Australian families have undergone profound changes. AIFS is releasing a series of snapshots to outline some of the changes in Australian families over the last four decades. Topics include household composition and family structure, housing ownership and rental, fertility, work and family, and employment and income.
