This article explores how many drug users have parenting responsibilities, drawing on data for people who primarily smoke methamphetamine in the VMAX study in Victoria. Just over half of the participants reported being parents, though 76% of those reported not living with their children. The article also examines the association between parental status, mental health, alcohol use, drug dependence, and having non-resident children.
