Child & Family Evidence
Dr Mandy Truong is a public health researcher, educator and health professional with experience in qualitative, mixed methods and evidence synthesis studies on topics including: cultural competency in healthcare, racism and health, refugee and migrant health and family violence. Currently she is a Research Fellow in the Child and Family Evidence team working primarily on the Child Family Community Australia information exchange.
Prior to joining AIFS in 2022, Mandy worked at Monash Nursing & Midwifery and the Menzies School of Health Research. She worked on various interdisciplinary projects, including: risk factors for family and domestic homicide, kidney transplant experiences among patients from migrant backgrounds, identification of cultural and linguistic diversity among deaths from suicide and examining cultural safety in renal health services. Mandy also has over 17 years of experience working as an optometrist in clinical practice.
