Rohann Irving joined AIFS in November 2024 as a Senior Research Officer with the Australian Gambling Research Centre. He holds a Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from The University of Queensland, where he is currently completing a PhD in the field of social and cultural studies.
Rohann's research explores the intersections of sport, masculinities, and gambling, where he has investigated how sports betting has been shaped over the past 2 decades by smartphone technologies. As a qualitative researcher, Rohann seeks to provide in-depth, nuanced insights into gambling's place in Australian lives and relationships. He is proficient in literature reviews, research design, in-depth interviews, qualitative analysis, and report writing.
