Families in Australia Survey: May–June 2021

The Families in Australia Survey is our flagship survey series. Its scope is every person in every type of family, with the survey open to Australians aged 18 years and over.

Following the first survey (May–June 2020), and the second survey (November–December 2020), AIFS launched the third Families in Australia Survey in May 2021. This survey ran from 18 May to 30 June 2021.

Compared to previous surveys, this one had a lesser focus on COVID, focusing more generally on family wellbeing and family characteristics. We asked Australians 18 years and over to tell us about ways in which they and their families were managing in terms of their relationships, connections, the support they give and receive, and also their work and finances.
