Financial journeys of Australian parents after separation – transitions into and out of poverty

There is still a lot to learn about the variability of post-separation economic journeys experienced by women and men, taken separately, and the factors influencing them. Drawing on data from the Longitudinal Study of Separated Families (LSSF), this article examines poverty rates across a 4‐year period, as well as people’s transitions into and out of poverty and the factors affecting these pathways.
