Overview

This document reports on the child care used by families living in the City of Melbourne. The data is drawn from an Australian Institute of Family Studies study of living standards in Australia. The report covers work related child care for preschool and primary school children, informal and formal care, hours of child care used, travelling to and from child care, costs of child care, fee relief, the care of sick children of working parents, demand for centre care, care before or after school and during school holidays, play groups and preschools.
