Financial effects of divorce worse for women

New analysis of data from Family Pathways: The Longitudinal Study of Separated Parents by AIFS researcher Lixia Qu has found that although women are more likely to initiate divorce, they are also far more likely to suffer financially from it. On the flip side, repartnering after divorce tends to be financially beneficial for women, but not as beneficial to men.
