Freedom of Information (FOI) disclosure log

Under section 11C of the Freedom of Information Act 1982, the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) maintains a public disclosure log listing documents released in response to FOI access requests.

What's included

 The log contains documents made publicly available following FOI requests. However, some information may be excluded, such as:

  • personal information about any person if publication of that information would be 'unreasonable'
  • information about the business, commercial, financial or professional affairs of any person if publication of that information would be 'unreasonable'
  • other information covered by a determination made by the Australian Information Commissioner if publication of that information would be 'unreasonable'
  • any information if it is not reasonably practicable to publish the information because of the extent of modifications that would need to be made to delete the information listed in the above dot points.

Accessing documents

All listed documents are available to the public. If a document is not in an accessible format, please contact AIFS to request an alternative version. We aim to respond promptly and at minimal cost. 

Retention period

Entries in the disclosure log are typically removed after 12 months unless they remain in the public interest.
