Stop blaming parents, experts say

Recent claims that Australia has an epidemic of over-protective parenting have been challenged by family and child welfare experts. Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, AIFS Director Anne Hollonds said the claims are overblown. ‘There are lots of positives about focused parenting, what John Marsden might call over-focused parenting. And probably I would lean towards there being, if we look for it, more positives than negatives.’
