AIFS Strategic Research Agenda 2025–28
Overview
AIFS’ purpose is to create and communicate knowledge that informs government policy and accelerates positive outcomes for children, families and their communities.
To better give effect to AIFS’ purpose and functions we have developed a new strategic research agenda that:
- aligns our understanding of the evidence base including broad research themes and priority topics with the critical trends and emerging issues affecting families in contemporary Australia
drives greater coherence and integration across our research activities - understands the priorities of our key stakeholders to ensure our work is relevant and responsive to current policy and practice directions
- better leverages opportunities for partnerships and collaborations
- positions our research and knowledge translation to better inform government systems, policies and programs designed to support families in Australia.
AIFS’ strategic research agenda will guide our research focus from 2025-28, with mechanisms for annual review and priority setting.
