Inquiry into men’s suicide rates

This submission to the ACT Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Social Policy by the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) presents evidence to support its inquiry into male suicide rates. Drawing on longitudinal data from the Ten to Men study—Australia’s largest study of male health—it highlights systemic contributors to male suicide, including social isolation, economic stress, relationship breakdowns, and low engagement with mental health services.
