An interpretative synthesis of coparenting among new parents in diverse sociocultural contexts

This article explores how parents develop their coparenting roles, and the influence of social, cultural and institutional factors. It presents a synthesis of the literature on how personal values and beliefs and work and family policies – including gender equality, family solidarity, and religion – impact the construction of coparenting during early parenthood.
