About Evidence and Evaluation Support (EES)
AIFS' EES team (formerly the Expert Panel Project) works with Families and Children (FaC) Activity service providers to help build their capacity to plan, implement and evaluate programs for families and children, and to incorporate evidence-based approaches into practice. The team offers web-based resources, training and advice, and tailored one-on-one support.
Although the team mainly works with service providers funded under the Department of Social Services’ (DSS) FaC Activity, our resources are available to everyone.
Online resources
EES resources cover a range of program planning, implementation and evaluation topics, tailored to people working across the child and family wellbeing sector. Practice resources include short topic summaries and ‘how-to’ guides. We also publish webinars that focus on discussing what works in practice.

One-on-one support for service providers
EES offers Families and Children (FaC) Activity service providers one-on-one time-limited support for tasks such as:
- guidance to undertake literature reviews
- developing or updating program logics
- writing evaluation questions
- choosing outcomes to measure and measurement tools
- identifying data needs and data collection methods
- help with writing evaluation plans.
Email the team for more information or to book a consultation.
Communities for Children Facilitating Partner (CfC FP) 50% requirement
EES provides support for CfC FPs to meet the 50% evidence-based requirement. We do this by:
- maintaining the CfC FP evidence-based program profiles
- assessing the quality of CfC FP funded programs
