National Families Week
We are proud to celebrate National Families Week 2026, recognising the vital role families play in supporting the wellbeing of individuals and communities across Australia.
As part of this year’s celebrations, we are releasing 2 new research reports:
- Understanding the social wellbeing and supports of Australian families with children in the early years – This report explores the social wellbeing of families with young children, including the supports they rely on and the factors that influence their experiences.
- Rapid scoping review of protective factors for parent and child wellbeing – This review synthesises current evidence on the key protective factors that contribute to positive outcomes for parents and children.
You can also read our latest explainer, by Catherine Andersson – Designing family support around evidence.
Together, these publications reinforce AIFS’ ongoing commitment to strengthening the evidence base that informs policy and practice in Australia supporting families.
National Families Week runs annually and provides an opportunity to reflect on the diversity, resilience and importance of families in Australia.
