Current project

The Australian Gambling Research Centre provides high quality, evidence-based resources for professionals working in the gambling sector.

The Australian Gambling Research Centre (AGRC) is situated within the Institute and provides high quality, evidence-based publications and resources to increase the capacity and capability of policy-makers, researchers, and professionals working in the gambling sector.

The Centre's research program covers an extensive range of topics, including:

  • the harm caused by gambling to problem gamblers, the families and communities of problem gamblers, and those at risk of experiencing harm
  • measures that may be undertaken to reduce harm
  • statistics and data on recreational gambling.

A key focus of the AGRC is to provide research that can be translated into practical policy and programs to assist people affected by problem gambling and that informs policy and program development to prevent problem gambling, and to understand the conditions associated with responsible gambling.
