This resource is based on findings from the National Approach for Child Protection Project, undertaken by the National Child Protection Clearinghouse and funded by the Community and Disability Services Ministers' Advisory Council. The project was a point in time analysis of approaches to child protection in Australia, and will inform the development of the National Framework for Protecting Australia's Children.

It outlines challenges facing child protection services in Australia and highlights key strategy directions being implemented, including integration and collaboration between services, strengthening early intervention, and a public health model approach.
