The Child Support Agency agreed to provide the Institute with data tapes of case registrations for analysis as part of the Child Support Scheme Evaluation. While data do not enable the identification of individuals, they do allow monitoring of maintenance collection in terms of dates of registration and collection, dates of orders and agreements, state of registration, custodial parents' pension status, the number of children for whom maintenance is collected and courts of jurisdiction. This report provides summary information on the data contained on the first of the tapes to be provided - with registration information up to the end of March 1989.

This report is based on data from the Australian Institute of Family Studies' Economic Consequences of Marriage Breakdown (ECMB) Study and the Parents and Children After Marriage Breakdown (PCMB) Study. The ECMB and PCMB studies are part of the Institute's Australian Family Reformation Project."
