The Australian Bureau has held a consultation into what changes should be made to topics in the next Census in 2026. This submission is from the Australian Institute of Family Studies, and presents a case for the Census to collect information on relationship separation, children in shared care or multiple parenting arrangements, multiple legal de-facto partners, former married or de facto spouses living in the same house, men's fertility, and sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, and intersex variations.
