About the research team

LSAC is funded by the Australian Government and conducted in partnership between:

  • Department of Social Services (DSS) who provides overall management and funding
  • Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) who is responsible for the:
    • design and content of the study
    • data management
    • research
    • dissemination.
  • Roy Morgan who is responsible for the:
    • data collection and delivery
    • instrument development
    • management of the Growing Up in Australia sample.

A consortium of leading researchers at research institutions and universities throughout Australia provides advice to the study.

Our survey methodology team is responsible for:  

  • content development
  • development of survey research methodology
  • participant engagement
  • fieldwork management
  • ethics approvals.

Data management and linkage team

Our data management and linkage team is responsible for: 

  • processing, storing and releasing LSAC’s survey and linked data
  • supporting data users by preparing metadata documentation such as the Data User Guide and Data dictionary
  • assisting with data-related queries and conducting workshops.

Our research and analysis team conducts analyses of LSAC data and prepares reports such as snapshots, commissioned reports, inquire submissions, publications and conference presentations.
